Portraits using the setting sun as a light source
You can't beat nature when it comes to fantastic light. The self portraits below were taken using the setting sun as a light source, no one else around to photo so had to use myself :(

The use of processing
Here we have an image which stands in its own right as a great picture. With processing this image gains an attitude of gritty authenticity .

The challenge of working without flash
Part of my preferred style of working is without flash using just available light. The following pictures were taken at a small bonfire, using the fire as my light source.
Ella my step daughter with her Grandpa enjoying the warmth of the fire
Sally my Wife with a love-ly sparkler
Dan my step son sitting by the fire, this is a personal favourite.
portraits in studio and out
A few examples of my portrait work with my willing family models. I will have to broaden my horizons soon and seek out some willing models
